The location now known as Werkroom Barbershop has deep roots in Portsmouth’s barbering scene. One of the first barbershops on Albert Road began here in the early 1990s, during the era of mullets and pompadours. While WerkrooM came later, it carries forward that same passion for barbering and hairdressing, blending timeless style with a modern touch.

Carrying on its legacy, the space has become one of Portsmouth’s top rated, all-gender barbershops. Re-established by Ruben R. Bettencourt in 2020, WerkrooM, a multi award-winning barbershop blends the best of traditional barbering with a fresh, contemporary approach, creating a modern, inclusive space where everyone can feel welcome.

In 2024, Deyvid joined the team, adding his creativity, technical skill, and passion for barbering. He has always been part of WerkrooM’s journey, but his official involvement brought new energy and ideas to the space. Together, Ruben and Deyvid have created a barbershop that celebrates individuality, confidence, and self-expression, welcoming everyone who walks through the door.
